Our Experience

  • Masters Business Boot Camp: We developed and implemented the Masters Business Boot Camp, a program designed to reinforce the essential skills necessary to own, manage, grow, and operate small businesses. This 6-week program addresses topics that include: funding a business, accounting and cash flow, taxes, legal issues, commercial real estate contracts, marketing, customer service, and entrepreneurship. Qualified participants enrolled in the earn-and-learn program, which subsidized business owners and active community entrepreneurs for their time away from tending to their business. In just four sessions, Caleo enrolled over 50 participants and graduated 49. Business owners who completed the program reported an average growth rate of 20%.

  • Doing More in the Core Non-Profit Boot Camp: We developed and implemented the Doing More in the Core Non-Profit BootCamp – a program focused on growing non-profit organizations in the Greater Des Moines area.  In this advanced 4-week boot camp, non-profits learn from experts on topics ranging from marketing, grant writing, tax and financial planning, alternative funding streams, building and managing aboard, and recruiting volunteers. Each organization was eligible for a mini-grant to use for its programming. More than 50 organizations participated in this program, and over $25,000 in mini-grants was allocated.

  • Bethany Christian Services and Iowa Black Doula Collective (IBDC): In January 2021, Caleo Enterprises gained the unique opportunity to design and support an innovative collaboration between Bethany and the IBDC. Caleo collaborated with the two organizations to develop a hybrid program that makes pregnancy-specific education, combined with a social worker, available to birthing people and their support network.
